Woburn, Mass. - June 11, 2007 - Demandware (www.demandware.com), developer of the breakthrough On-Demand eCommerce Platform, today announced its participation in an invite-only event being held by Citigroup to explore the use and development of technology in the retail industry. Demandware founder and chairman Stephan Schambach will discuss how retail eCommerce solutions are helping retailers innovate, increase market share and boost gross margin at the event, which will be held on June 12, 2007 at the Citigroup Center in New York City. Schambach will be joined by leading retail equity research analyst Deb Weinswig of Citigroup, technology analyst Paula Rosenblum of Retail Systems Alert Group, in addition to executives from J.C. Penney, Kenneth Cole, SAP, Microsoft, and SAS.
The Citigroup Retail Technology Conference provides participants with an overview of how retailers have benefited from current retail technology and how these solutions will impact the future of the retail industry. Demandware's presentation will focus on the fastest growing segment of retail - the online channel. As spending continues to increase and more sophisticated consumers become multi-channel shoppers, today's leading retailers must engage the right technology partners and find solutions like Demandware to meet the demanding needs of consumers.
"A new and innovative approach to eCommerce must be considered as part of any retail growth strategy especially considering the tremendous increase over the past year in cross channel consumer spending," said Schambach. "The Citigroup Retail Technology Forum is a great opportunity for us to convene with innovative retailers and share trends that are driving the retail industry forward."
